About
Draumur are parts of a human’s soul, manifested alongside magic. They take shape as real world animals, though some liberties can be taken in terms of color and patterns and the like, as explained later. They have human level intelligence and are capable of human speech as they grow, and they develop personalities unique from their human partner. Draumur can unlock elemental powers based on a hidden factor known as origins, and can perform different strengths of feats based on the level dictated by their stats, which is different from their stage. Draumurs can also unlock a final power through a hidden factor known as a timefall.
Origins and timefalls will be discovered through puzzles taking place both in and out of character, and can be guessed at specific announced times. Stages are unlocked automatically as episodes progress. Levels are unlocked optionally by completing prompts.

Origins
Origins are the essence of your draumur and dictate what elemental magic they can use. Origins are secretly assigned to you after applications close, and can be guessed during and after episode one. While the origin is chosen for you, each origin has two elements associated with it and you choose which one of the two elements you’d like for your draumur. The origins are as follows:
- Drought-born: Wielders of earth OR fire. Level is dictated by Strength.
- Bleak-born: Wielders of ice OR shadow. Level is dictated by Stamina.
- Storm-born: Wielders of water OR lightning. Level is dictated by Speed.
- Clear-born: Wielders of air OR light. Level is dictated by Dexterity.
TImefalls
Timefalls, like origins, are assigned in secret and will have to be guessed, most likely during episode four. They influence a draumur’s final design, and are the final key in your player getting home from Promised Horizon. Here is the full list of timefalls:

Levels
Your draumur’s level is what determines to what extent they can use their magic. Their starting level is decided by how many stat points they have in the trait that dictates their origin. (Ex. My draumur is Storm-born. I have 5 points in Speed, and thus my draumur will start at level 3.)
You level up your draumur by completing the level prompts listed below. To be fair, all players must start at the first prompt in order to level up, no matter what level their draumur starts at. (Ex. My draumur starts with access to level 3 skills. In order to raise them to level 4, I must complete the previous two prompts first.)

Level 1
1-2 stat points Draumur can manipulate small amounts of their element. They cannot create said element; it must be taken from the world around them.

Level 2
3-4 stat points Draumur can now spawn small amounts of their element, though they still cannot control it at any large distance. They grow tired quickly when trying to spawn constant or large amounts of their element.

Level 3
5-6 stat points Draumur can easily create and manipulate amounts of their element equal to the size of a human head. Manipulating at a distance has also become much easier; using the element as a projectile is now common.

Level 4
7-8 stat points Draumur are now invulnerable to specific effects from their origin. Drought-born cannot be burned, Storm-born cannot be paralyzed, Bleak-born cannot be frozen, and Clear-born cannot be blinded.

Level 5
9-10 stat points Draumur now have the potential to create and manipulate amounts of their element equal to the size of their own body. The more time and experience, the greater their abilities and the more like a force of nature they are.

Level-Up Prompts:
- Level 1-2: Draw or write your draumur practicing their newly awakened powers.
- Level 2-3: Draw or write a scene in which your character and your draumur bond.
- Level 3-4: Draw or write about a type of world your character would like to visit that is not their own.
- Level 4-5: Draw or write a pivotal scene in your character's past.
STages
Your draumur’s stage describes their physical appearance and determines some abilities not related to magic. Two stages (Burst and Tempus) require you to correctly guess an external factor based on clues to change your draumur’s stage. Other than that, draumur are automatically allowed, and encouraged, to change a single stage in between each episode. Changing your draumur’s stage simply requires you to update their app art. A sketch with flat colors is satisfactory. The stages are as follows:
BABY STAGE
Baby stage draumur are compact and simplified in terms of proportion and design. They are completely desaturated, and have only 2-3 values, with very minor patterning, if any. Their eyes are always closed at this stage and they cannot speak yet, though they do understand their human. Baby stage draumur, regardless of their species, can be as big as but no bigger than an average rabbit. The provided example is an opossum draumur. |
BURST STAGE
Burst stage draumur have gained colors inspired by their declared element. They will still only display 2-3 colors or shades, and fairly simply patterning if any. They've grown in size, though their proportions are often still somewhat compacted compared to their real-life inspiration. They can now speak, but stick to simple phrases or single words. Burst stage draumur, regardless of their species, can be as big as but no bigger than a large domestic cat, or wild cat cub. The provided example discovered it was a Clear-born draumur, and light was declared its element. |
ELEMENT STAGE
Element stage draumur's physical forms display attributes of their given element. Their proportions can be much more true to their species now, and an additional color or shade can be introduced alongside slightly more complex patterning. They speak with ease now. Element stage draumur, regardless of their species, can be as big as but no bigger than a large domesticated dog. The provided example is now displaying light attributes. Its tail and fur fades out and shines. |
CHAMPION STAGE
Champion stage draumur can add an additional 2-3 values of elemental inspired colors, and can again grow more complex in terms of patterning. The draumur have become strong and sturdy and can reflect their true size; creatures like bears, large cats, and equines no longer have restrictions. Animals that are smaller by nature can be larger than they would be in the wild, but will not get bigger than the large domesticated dog size that their previous form allowed for. The provided example did not increase the amount of colors present, but did grow more complex in terms of patterns and details. Although not easily depicted here, it is also larger than its Element stage. |
TEMPUS STAGE
Tempus stage draumur have unlocked their final form. They will grow no larger than they were before, but their timefall can be incorporated into their design. The provided example discovered their timefall to be "Noon's Rays Over the Ocean," and the design has been updated to reflect the personal interpretation of the timefall. |
