THE WORLDS ARE FALLING ASLEEP.
Welcome to Dreaming Destinies.
Every star dotting the sky is a world born of light. The worlds seem infinite; some may be like your own and some may be wildly different, but at least one thing unites you all. Each star in the sky is populated by all kinds of people, each with their own hopes and dreams.
When this hope fades so does the world’s light, and a star is extinguished from the sky. Your world is facing that fate but isn’t quite gone yet. It has fallen to slumber in an effort to save itself, resulting in some measure of strangeness and chaos as it shifts from how it should be. Parts of the world become locked away or different in its slumber, while some of its inhabitants fall asleep and others are cast out unintentionally. You are one of the latter, thrown into a different world of liminal space that seems to attract those who have been lost. It’s a seemingly safe place of endless sea and sky, but you cannot leave it. Not yet, not without the magic to change the world and open its door on your own.
You’ll need power, and the knowledge of when it was you fell into this world, as that’s the only time you can guarantee it will be your world waiting for you on the other side of the door. This specific point is called a timefall, and will be discovered through clues in time. As for power:
When your world sunk into its slumbering state, parts of your soul that are normally sleeping woke to stand beside you as draumur (Dray-mer), creatures of elemental magic that are key in returning to your own world. The more time they spend with you and take in magic, the stronger they grow, and when your timefall is finally unlocked they will be strong enough to open the door and send you both home to awaken your world.
All this is explained to you when you first wake in Promised Horizon, the world of In-Betweens, by another dreamer who has been here for some time already. He introduces himself as Skender and his draumur, who has already grown a stage simply from how long she and Skender had been lost, as Brifstrid. He says you all can grow stronger faster if you wake other worlds but he hasn’t seen the door open since he fell from the sky into this place, much like you just did moments before and then---
He stands wide eyed and slack jawed, as you might be, as a pillar of light erupts from the sea beneath your feet. The door is open; a world is asking for help.
Are you ready to dive in?

Dreaming Destinies is a private roleplay campaign largely inspired by Kingdom Hearts. It is divided into five episodes. Each episode charges the players with completing a set of tasks in order to wake a sleeping world in order to level up their characters so they may in turn be strong enough to return home and wake their own worlds.
Gameplay revolves around roleplay and puzzle solving, with some of these puzzles taking place in character, and some taking place out of character, but solving them creates changes in the roleplay. Some measure of consistent activity and upkeep is required, but the game does have a set end goal.
